ABOUT US

In 2009  Labella Risa Catering was born. With the help of family and friends, we started making “Fried Pies”.  The yummy treat is a confection that my mother and grandmother made for us as children.  It was made with raised dough and filled with whatever fruit was stored in the pantry on the canning shelf.  As kids our favorite flavor was apricot.  That sunshiny flavored pie is still filled with giggly memories of a little girl who was tucking those pie moments away for a future adventure.  The future adventure began when I dug out those memories, altered the recipe a bit, and became known as “The Pie Lady”.

Today’s Fried Pies are sweet and savory.  I exchanged the raised dough for a traditional pie crust, filled them with Fresh Lemon Curd (aka Bad Ass Lemon), Marion berry, Peach, Apple, and Cherry.  Of course, we do special orders like Coconut Cream, Chocolate, or anything else you can imagine.  At breakfast you might even be lucky to get an egg, ham, and cheese pie, before they are sold out!

From our Fried Pie beginnings, we entered into the world of Smoked Meats. We added our custom made smoker and went wild! Our pulled pork, chicken drums, chicken wings, and porter soaked brisket were immediate favorites.

Our travels have taken us all across Oregon to various vending events.  We also cater weddings and special occasions to your custom menus.  Have kitchen, will travel!

Early 2014, LaBella Risa Catering became a dba for M. PIE R., LLC (my initials surrounding our first course, pronounced "EMPIRE").  With M. PIE R., LLC in place we entered into the world of Type 2 & 3 Fire Catering.  We successfully completed our first year and have been delighted with expansion of our business.

Our growth over the last few years has been incredible.  The best part for me is twofold.  First, I love to cook and second the ‘pot’ got sweeter as I have the help of my family and friends.  The two together are what makes our food incredible.  I was listening to one of staff talk to someone.  The person was asking, “why is your food so much better?”  My staff and longtime friend replied. “It’s the love”.

All of us here love what we do; let us love what we do for you!
